Trouble signing in
The problems people hit most, and what to do about each one.
Work down this page in order. The problems near the top are the common ones.
The code has not arrived
Give it a minute. Most codes that seem lost turn up within thirty seconds.
Then check your spam or junk folder, which is where nearly all of them are.
Then check the address on the confirmation screen is spelled correctly. If it is not, the code went somewhere else and you will need to sign up again with the right address.
If it is correct, send a new code. You can do that once every 60 seconds, up to five times.
The code is not being accepted
Three things stop a code working:
- It has expired. Codes last five minutes.
- It has been used up. Three wrong attempts and that code is dead.
- It is not the newest one. Requesting a new code stops the previous one working. If you have several emails, use the most recent.
In all three cases, send yourself a new code.
It says my details do not match
That message appears both when the email address has no account and when the password is wrong, so it does not tell you which.
Check the address first. Then, if you are not certain of the password, reset it rather than guessing. Guessing repeatedly will get you locked out for a few minutes.
It says an account already exists
You have signed up with that address before, even if you never finished.
Go to sign in and use it. If you cannot remember the password, reset it. If you never confirmed the address, signing in sends you a fresh code automatically.
It will not accept my email address
Breakerway checks that an address can receive mail before creating an account. Temporary and throwaway addresses are refused, and so are addresses with a typo in the domain.
Check the spelling, particularly after the @. If it is right and still
refused, use a different address you can receive mail at.
The username I want is taken
Usernames are unique and not case sensitive, so partsking and PartsKing
count as the same name.
Try adding something to it. The check runs as you type and tells you as soon as a name is free.
It is asking me to wait
Too many attempts in a short time. This limits how fast someone can guess at an account, and it clears on its own.
Wait a minute. If it was a forgotten password that got you here, resetting it is quicker than more attempts.
The check that I am a person will not pass
Complete it again. These checks expire if the page has been open a while, and an expired one fails even though nothing looks wrong.
If it keeps failing, try a different browser, or turn off any extension that blocks scripts.
None of this helped
Contact Breakerway with the email address you are trying to use and what you see on screen. Do not send your password to anyone, including Breakerway. Real support will never ask for it.
